Paklenica National Park is the most important alpine climbing centre in Croatia with a recognised international reputation. In the region of Paklenica there are some twenty peaks suitable for climbing. Short sporting courses currently number 72; and there are over 250 longer routes (up to 300 m) and it is possible for adventure lovers and "big wall" climbers to find something to their liking. The main free-climbing season is in the spring and fall, but it is possible to combine free climbing and swimming in the sea, all on the same day.
